5. W3 CONNECT – DIGITAL PROFESSIONAL NETWORK
Short version
W3 CONNECT is the digital professional network surrounding the W3+ Fair in the field of Life Science & Health. The primary purpose of the platform is networking and voluntary contact between members.
We use your data for this as follows:
● Registration: To use W3 CONNECT, we require your name, address and email address as mandatory information and store this data.
● Making contact: We suggest other members to members for networking. For this purpose, we transmit only the member's name and the name of the company. Contact between members only takes place once both members agree.
● Interests and recommendations: If you state interests, we use these for recommendations regarding people, companies, topics and content. We do not pass on interest data to third parties, nor to other members.
● Professional exchange: Members can send messages via W3 CONNECT and receive articles, webinars, surveys and other content.
● W3+ Fair: The platform supports the preparation and follow-up of the event, e.g. with an agenda, company and product information, a hall plan, digital tickets and lead scanning.
● Information: We provide information about the W3+ Fair, the professional network and topics from Life Science & Health on the platform and by email. Email notifications can be unsubscribed from.

Purpose of W3 CONNECT
W3 CONNECT serves as a digital professional network in the field of Life Science & Health and supports the W3+ Fair. Its primary purpose is to network registered members with one another and to enable them to make contact voluntarily. In addition, the platform provides functions for professional exchange as well as for the preparation and follow-up of the W3+ Fair.

1. Registration and required data
For registration and the operation of the user account, we require your name, address and email address as mandatory information. This data is used to set up and manage the user account and to provide the platform via the web application and, where offered, smartphone apps.
2. Networking and voluntary contact
Networking with other members is the primary purpose of W3 CONNECT. So that members can find and identify one another within the professional network, we display your name and the name of the company or institution you are assigned to for other members.
Based on your profile and the interests you have stated, W3 CONNECT may recommend people and companies to you as possible contacts. Contact is not made automatically: you decide for yourself whether to confirm a recommended contact or initiate contact. Making contact is therefore voluntary.
The interest data you provide is not passed on to other members. We use it within the platform to create recommendations regarding people, companies, topics, articles and event content.
3. Professional exchange and information
Members can send and receive messages via W3 CONNECT and publish and access articles and other released content. Insofar as the corresponding functions are enabled, they can also take part in webinars, surveys and other digital formats or provide formats of their own.
Information about the W3+ Fair, the professional network and topics from Life Science & Health can be provided via the platform. Information may also be sent by email. Email notifications can be unsubscribed from in accordance with the settings offered.
4. Use in connection with the W3+ Fair
W3 CONNECT supports the preparation, use and follow-up of the W3+ Fair. For this purpose, information may in particular be provided on participating companies and institutions, products and services, programme items, speakers, hall plans and other event content. Based on your profile and the interests you have stated, suitable event content may be recommended.
If an event ticket has been purchased separately, it can be made available via W3 CONNECT. Using the lead scanning function, members can store contacts they collect themselves in advance of or during the event within the platform and manage them for follow-up.
5. Disclosure of data
For the purpose of networking, we make the member's name and the name of the associated company or institution available to other members within the professional network. Interest data is not passed on to other members, but is used exclusively within the platform to create recommendations.
Beyond this, we do not pass on personal data for the purposes described here to third parties outside the professional network.
6. DISCLOSURE OF DATA TO OUR GOLD PARTNER OPTONET
For the W3+ Fair, we work together with our gold partner OptoNet (hereinafter "OptoNet"). As part of this cooperation, we pass on certain contact data to OptoNet in order to ensure a smooth flow of information between the W3+ Fair and the network.
